Mark A. Hillman, President and Chief Investment Officer, founded HCM in 1998, bringing into the firm the assets of predecessor companies he established in the early 1990s, Custom Asset Management and Menocal Capital Management where he was the Chief Investment Officer.

HCM first located in Annapolis, Maryland and, due to growth, moved to Bethesda, Maryland in April, 2005 with five employees.  The two mutual funds, Hillman Focused Advantage (HCMAX) and Hillman Advantage (HCMTX) were formed in 2000.

HCM relocated within Bethesda in August, 2006 with 15 employees and over $500MM in assets under management.
